Features in our local newspaper (the Manchester Evening News) and listings magazine as we announced that Sega had signed Dreamcast Wetrix in Japan, published around August 2000.
And the post script to the story is that Wetrix+ on Dreamcast (or Aqua Panic as Sega were going to call it) never actually got that Japanese release, and we never got to make a Sega game as they dramatically decided to stop supporting the Dreamcast about a week before the game was completed.
Appearing in the local press was as strange again as appearing in the national press, when our only previous brushes with fame were limited to the world of video game geeks. I think my non-industry friends who'd known for years that I made games finally believed it when the saw the City Life piece, and weirdly, I even got recognised by a complete stranger whilst walking into a football match about a week after the Manchester Evening News article was published ("you're that bloke out of the paper aren't you?"). It must have been the beard.
