Subject: Plok comic strip
And now that wondrous moment when everything gets combined together, and I add the title logo and text, and it all looks... urgh.
I did't like it. It's too busy and the background is fighting for attention with the foreground, and the composition is a bit rubbish. That's the downside of drawing the foreground as a separate layer - it's not completely clear that it joins up properly with the background until you put it all together at the end. I dunno, it looks different to the Volume 1 cover at least. Maybe it would be fixable?
Also, my favourite bits of the background were the crater (which is completely covered up by Plok's head), and the strong shadows from the characters (which are almost completely obscured by the titles and Plok's arms and legs). Maybe I can use the finished background (without Plok's limbs) as the back cover to the book?
The borders show the safe areas and bleed areas for printing, with the dark blue outer border showing the area that should be completely cropped off from the finished cover.
Oh, and we've completely forgot to come up with a title for this volume!
