Ste Pickford

This is one of the greatest things I've ever seen in my life!

Long time Plok fan Brian Dobbs got in touch with us over email recently to tell us that twenty years ago he covered his 7th grade maths folder with Plok drawings, while being addicted to the SNES game. And best of all, he still had the folder!

He kindly sent us a scan of it, and here it is.

This has really made my day. Thanks Brian!

That brings a tear to my eye. Too much nostalgia.

Can't believe I found this site! Big thanks to Ste and John Pickford for making such an incredible game and giving so many of us hours and hours of joy.

Cool Brian I love your art work. It's better than my drawing of Plok. I drew on my folders too.

Nice to hear so many years later how one's artistic creations truly had such a lasting and appreciated affect on a generation. Hurray Internet!

Back in the day, me and a friend of mine had drawn a lot of PLOKs in school, too. Good times. Now I wonder if anything is still extant.

NameThatNobodyTakes

In the game's manual there was a dark silhouette that hinted at the costume Plok uses against the flea queen (the one with the springs attached to his feet). After I reached the flea queen for the first time way back in my childhood, I tried my best to use the silhouette as a reference for drawing the costume, a drawing which I still own. I really need to fetch it from the attic and compare it to the actual drawing (http://www.zee-3.com/pickfordbros/archive/view.php?post=136) just to see how close I came to imitating it!

Sorry for the double post, but I don't know why I never mentioned it here before (and somehow forget) but I actually made a never-completed comic featuring multiple video game franchises back in my childhood in which Plok was one of the main characters! However I would only publish a few bits of it because it also featured the stick figure drawings of me and my brother (a long running comic series I made in my late childhood until my early youth) which I don't actually want the world to see because my adult self perceives these storylines as very inane :P

Unfortunately, I'm bad at drawing Plok in your art style, so I drew him in my art style (but I can't post images in comments :( )
