This is the inside of The Swan pub, to follow up the picture of the outside posted yesterday.

John and I had previously worked together in office environments for years before we went 'indie'. You'd imagine that we would have far more opportunity to talk through game design ideas if we were in the same room all day, but we were surprised to find that we talked far more, and thought through our game design ideas much more, once we only meet up once a week to chat about them.

Perhaps it's the lack of distractions (like the phone, or something urgent cropping up), or perhaps the fact that we can't put off a conversation about a particular feature until another day, or perhaps it's because we save up all our thoughts for one big Friday session.

The end result is that Naked War and Magnetic Billiards are better designed games than anything we'd worked on previously.
