Subject: Pickford Bros.
Back from a week away in Wales, all refreshed and ready for work (translation: looking for any displacement activities I can find other than starting work, such as writing blog entries).
I took a little sketch book with me, but forgot my book of card games, which was a shame as it rained for most of the week. Still, I got lots of sketching done.
I was looking for somewhere to upload the scans of my sketches, and picked flickr. I've used facebook in the past, but I don't think images uploaded there are publicly viewable (or I haven't worked out how to link to them if they are).
I'm not much of a photographer so haven't looked at flickr before. At first I was worried that I'd be breaking the rules or something by uploading sketches rather than photos, but it seems lots of people use it for paintings and drawings too.
I uploaded scans of the 46 (count 'em!) sketches I did last week, then uploaded my previous sketchbook too, and had loads of fun positioning them all on the map - trying to find the exact spot where the rusty bucket in the woods was, or where the pub was where I drew the pint pot. I guess I've made it easy for someone to cyber-stalk me now!
The only ones I couldn't position were the ones I drew in the car on the motorway.
Anyway, here's a link to my hand-drawn holiday snaps, if anyone's interested. The one shown here is my favourite, of couple of disposable barbecues on a tree stump (I was quite pleased with the self portrait in the bathroom mirror too).
