Subject: Sketches
This is a daft little sketch I drew of Peter Hook, about 19 years ago!
I was always a massive New Order / Joy Division fan, and even played bass myself in a band (well, kinda), but even being a big fan I've always thought Hooky was kind of funny.
My friends and I used to see him out and about a lot back in those days, when we hung around the Hacienda and Dry Bar, so we had plenty of opportunities to see the great man in action, and invent daft stories about him. We were planning to start a comic strip about his wild (completely made up) adventures for our fanzine, which was probably why I did this drawing. In the end we did a single page strip about Dry Bar, and managed to squeeze him in for the last panel, which was probably for the best. We didn't want to get barred from our favourite club!
Click on the sketch to nosey through my other doodles from back in the day, on good old flickr.
