Subject: Pickford Bros.
My wife found a box full of old papers whilst cleaning the spare room the other day. It was full of all sorts of gems which I'll post up here over the coming weeks.
This one made me chuckle, my first ever employment contract. The starting salary of 6k didn't seem so bad back then when I was still living at home and didn't drink or even go out.
I seem to remember spending my first months wages on a Tatung Einstein computer (the same ones we used as dev machines in the office) so I could work at home in the evenings and weekends (for free).
On top of my princely salary I would get 500 quid for designing games. This was usually a hand-written 2 page document so I thought I was doing pretty well. Although years later someone told me that Feud (one of my 500 quid designs) sold a couple of hundred thousand copies.
