Here's another of the concept art / manual drawings for Cosmic Pirate, on the Amiga / Atari ST, from 1988 or so.

I love the little phase pattern in the centre of the teleport station (you flew into these in your ship), achieved by overlaying two pieces of letratone at slightly different angles.

I thought I was sooo clever doing that!
