Subject: Magnetic Billiards: Seriously Casual
A couple of weeks ago I posted a little doodle I'd done in my work notebook of a FAQ book I planned to build as a model for the new game (see follow-up link above).
We'll, here's the finished model to compare it to.
It's not taken me all that time to do this model! We've got a few other things going on as well, so it's been a couple of weeks before I had a chance to start on the model after doing the sketch.
The actual geometry only took a few hours, but the texturing took a bit longer - texturing always takes me longer than I initially expect. The yellow corners of the book are shiny / environment mapped when rendered in the game, so look a bit nicer than in this render, especially when moving. I probably spent more time on this than I should have, as it only appears on screen at a fairly small size. Smaller than this render anyway.
Since putting the book model in this morning we've made all the UI panels move a bit when your cursor hovers over them, to show off the shininess a bit more.
