Subject: Magnetic Billiards: Seriously Casual
This is the finished version of yesterday's sketch: the first Victorian character face I drew for our new game.
I'd made such a mess of the pencils, going over and over them, that I knew I'd never be able to rub them out completely when I inked the drawing in, so instead I tried taping a sheet of tracing paper over the top and inked the tracing paper instead.
This technique worked OK, and the tracing paper scanned in fine (there was a little bit of shadow, but easy to remove), and I didn't destroy the pencil sketch either!
I'm not that happy with the drawings though. I like the one in the top right, but otherwise the face is a bit ill defined and potato-like, and not really looking like the same person from image to image.
The later characters were much better drawn I think, but I don't think I'll go back and re-draw this one. We're not trying to achieve absolute perfection, and sometimes the flaws in a work can be quite charming.
