Subject: Magnetic Billiards: Sardines
This is a little animation test for one a series of characters who will be popping up in a new version of Magnetic Billiards we're working on, 'Sardines', which will be an expansion of the Sardines Arcade mode from Blueprint.
I've resurrected one of the heads originally drawn for the PC version of the game, and added a new body.
The idea is that there are a series of characters who pop up and help you out in the game, or explain aspects of the game at various points.
I'm working with a new and unfamiliar scripting system, and I'm clearly not an animator, and this test is my first attempt to get a little bit of animation on the screen, and work out what I can and can't do with the system.
One of the best things about being an indie is that you have to do a bit of everything, so thinking about animation has been a nice change of pace for me this last week.. There's an element of 'jack of all trades, master of none' about being the only artist on a small team, but it's great fun to constantly have to learn new techniques and even if you don't get to stick with one thing enough to consider yourself a real expert.
